Press Release: Fujifilm Student Awards
The winning image will appear on the cover of Ralph Ellison's 1952 masterpiece, The Invisible Man, when it is re-issued as part of Penguin's Modern Classics series. This will give the winning student huge coverage and will be a great addition to any aspiring photographer's portfolio. In addition to this amazing prize, the winner will be named Fujifilm Student Photographer of the Year 2008. They will also win a library of 100 Penguin Classics titles and a copy of the book, Seven Hundred Penguins.

The brief is to take a photograph that both captures the spirit of the novel and fits the new Modern Classics layout.

As in recent years, all photographs must be taken on Fujifilm Professional film and Merit winners must output their image on Fujifilm paper materials. All images are submitted online via the website.

Judges will select 30 Merit winners who will be requested to submit a print for final judging. Each Merit winner will receive 10 rolls of Fujicolor PRO160S professional colour negative film in 35mm or 120, one Penguin Classic paperback book of their choice and a copy of the book, Seven Hundred Penguins.

The college or university that submits the most entries will receive £250 worth of Fujifilm Professional film and 100 Penguin Classics titles for their library.

The Awards are now open and submissions can be made up to the closing date of 31st March 2008. Merit judging takes place in April 2008 and the final judging will be completed by May 2008.
