This new camera prototype, by Jonas Pfeil, is a padded ball that can be thrown into the air to capture a full 360 degree view of the world. It features 36x 2 megapixel camera phone modules, and a built in accelerometer allows the camera to take photos when at the highest point.

The resulting panoramic shot is then viewed using the spherical panoramic viewer, after connecting the camera using it's USB connection. Images: Jonas Pfeil.

This item was discussed in a Forum thread last week. Come on News Desk - keep up!!

Wink
Depending on the price might be something cool to keep around, and as it takes no film you don't need to worry about replacing stuff provided it takes long lasting batteries.
