NIKKOR Production Reaches 70 Million - Total production of Nikon's NIKKOR lenses has reached 70 million.

Nikon has announced that the total production of NIKKOR lenses has reached the 70 million mark.
NIKKOR lenses for interchangeable lens cameras reached a total production of 70 million in June 2012, which is up another 5 million since October 2011.
Nikon also announced that their AF-S lenses that are equipped with the Silent Wave Motor, which is an autofocus motor developed by Nikon, has reached 30 million.
In a press release, Nikon said: 'NIKKOR has become synonymous with quality DSLR lenses, and is one of the biggest brands out there. It has always been at the forefront of technology, releasing the world's first lens to incorporate aspherical lens elements in 1968.'
