ADP announces competition
Press Release:
ADP, a leading nationwide architectural practice, today announces the launch of its very first photography competition, Bricks and Mortals.
The competition focuses on the relationship between people and buildings and is open to higher and further education students, in their final year of photography and similar courses, as well as Part II and Part III architectural students.
The winner will be awarded a one thousand pound commission to photograph one of ADP's completed buildings, plus 750 pounds worth camera equipment vouchers. Second prize is 500 pounds of Jessops vouchers and Adobe Photoshop and third prize is 250 pounds of Jessops vouchers and Adobe Lightroom.
The judges will be looking for photographs which best capture the subtle interaction between people and the built environment as we go about our daily lives.
The winning photograph, two runners-up and a number of highly commended photographs, will be selected by a panel of judges, including celebrated photographer Peter Cook, Robert Rummey, Managing Director, Rummey Design and regular chair and presenter at RIBA conferences, Victoria Harris, CEO of Article 25 a development and disaster charity that helps to provide better shelter for people in disaster hit areas, and Roger FitzGerald, Partner, ADP.
The chosen photographs will then be exhibited at a number of venues throughout the UK, one of which will be in London, where a selection of the winning prints will be auctioned off to raise money for Article 25.
Roger FitzGerald, Partner at ADP, says: "We were inspired to do this competition, not only to support the amazing work that Article 25 does, but to provide an opportunity for young creative individuals to showcase their photographic skills. I am looking forward to seeing the entries and hope to unearth some hidden talent."
Peter Cook, comments: "I was very pleased to be asked to sit on the judging panel for this competition. Bricks and Mortals is a fantastic opportunity for students, winning a commission from a company like ADP will provide a great addition to their portfolio and an invaluable piece of work experience."
The brief, entry forms and terms and conditions are available now from ADP's website.
Closing date for entries is 16.01.09.
