On Monday 17th November The Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008 Exhibition opened with a private viewing for Award winners, invited guests and the press. The exhibition consists of over 100 images. Most of these images are shown as large format prints which really allow you to appreciate the quality of the individual images. During the evening Valerie Singleton, who was also a judge in the competition, presented the overall winners - Gary Eastwood and Gabrielle Barnes, with their prizes. The complete list of winners is:
- Overall Winner: Gary Eastwood - Barney on Hove Seafront
- Winner - Classic View: Simon Butterworth - Loch Dochard
Runner-up - Classic View: Gary Waidson - Tandlewood - Winner - Living the View: Jason Ingram - Gardening
Runner-up - Living the View: Kevin Walsh - Grounded Ferry - Winner - Phone View: Andy McGregor - Nairn Beach

- Winner - Classic View: Anatole Sloan - Lake District
- Winner - Living the View: Connor Matheson - Lone Tree near Barnsley

The competition and exhibition are sponsored by the combined tourist boards of the United Kingdom and it works very well as an advert for the beauty of these isles.
There was a noticeable increase in the number of HDR images in this years exhibition, showing the way technology is progressing in this area.

For me the real show stealing image was Keita Yasukawa's panoramic image of the millennium bridge consisting of 15-10 minute exposures stitched into one seamless image.
We bumped into ePHOTOzine member Kate Barclay who's highly commended image graces the cover of the book and was the publishers choice to represent the entire exhibition. Kate said she was "really chuffed" to be in the exhibition for the second time, and who can blame her. Well done Katie and all the other ePHOTOzine members who have won a place in the exhibition.
