Digital technology with a retro look
The renown Minox DCC Leica M3 5mp is soon to be available in gold.
For lovers of innovative technology but now with an with an added touch of luxury, this unique miniature camera has become a much sought-after classic worldwide in its standard silver colour, but now it is also to become available in classic gold. The new gold edition presents a striking design of black and gold and the camera comes packed and presented in a quality dark, satin-lined wooden box with brass hinges. State-of-the-art technology presented in a classic look.
Just like the silver edition, the gold MINOX DCC Leica M3 looks just like the original full size Leica M 3. This model has been meticulously miniaturized to one third of the original size but contains the technology of a modern digital camera with 5 million pixels resolution.
Cult status this camera certainly has, which has grown out of the ability that Minox has to engineer miniature products with retro styling. Not only is this a perfect example but so is the new DSC - Digital Spy Camera - being showcased at Photokina 2008.
While the gold edition catches the eye it still maintains the features of its silver sister, in particular the 1.5 in TFT colour monitor and memory space. The engineers have maintained the SD card slot in its tiny body, next to the USB port for transferring data to the computer. Besides normal photography the DCC also records video sequences in AVI format. All data can be stored on an internal 32 Mb memory or on 4Gb SD cards. Power is supplied by a replaceable Lithium-Ion battery.
Included in the satin-lined wooden box is a Lithium-Ion battery, power pack, USB cable and User Manual.
