Any photographer using a Digital SLR soon learns what a nuisance, dust on the sensor can be. As the sensor is the most expensive component within the camera, it must be cleaned extremely carefully to avoid damage. Many photographers regularly send their cameras back to the manufacturer for cleaning – a costly exercise that also results in the loss of the camera for a few days – or more.

Now, building on the success of the original Dust-Aid system, Just is pleased to introduce a new range of cleaning tools from Dust-Aid. These tools are designed to lower the cost of sensor cleaning, while providing the photographer with a set of tools to safely clean away both loose dust spots and more persistent ‘stuck-on’ marks.

Dust-Aid Platinum - £19.95.
Dust-Aid Platinum is an evolution of the original Dust-Aid system. It uses a silicone based, low-tack pad to gently lift dust off the sensor and out of the camera. A key advantage of Dust-Aid Platinum is that because nothing is wiped along the sensor, there is no possibility of scratching the sensor surface. Dust-Aid Platinum is easy to use. There are no brushes to clean, or liquids to worry about. It’s light, travel safe and highly effective at cleaning dust from the sensor. Dust-Aid Platinum is safe to use on all sensors including coated sensors and on cameras with self-cleaning sensor mechanisms.

Dust-Aid Dust-Wand Kit - £19.95.
All DSLR sensors experience a build up of hard-to-remove ‘stuck-on’ marks. The traditional way to clean this away has been to use an expensive cleaning swab and cleaning fluid. These methods, while reliable, have some disadvantages. Water based fluids don’t evaporate quickly and tend to leave streaks, while alcohol based solutions are highly flammable and not travel friendly. The new Dust-Wand Kit addresses the expense issue by allowing the photographer to assemble a low-cost cleaning swab using a simple wand and cleaning pad. While the new Ultra-Clean solution provides an extremely pure, fast-evaporating, non-flammable and hence travel safe, cleaning liquid.

Safe sensor cleaning practice involves removing all loose dust particles from the sensor surface prior to wet-cleaning, so Dust-Aid Platinum and the Dust-Aid Dust-Wand Kit work together. Use Platinum to remove the dust and then, if necessary, use a low-cost Dust-Wand to safely wipe away any sticky marks.

Dust-Aid Ultra-Clean - £9.95.
This amazing new cleaner is also available separately, for use with ready made cleaning swabs and it also makes a great lens cleaner. Extremely pure, it evaporates fast, and being non-flammable is travel safe. It can be used on all sensor types including those with the new ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coatings.
