Gadgets for girls - A survey on behalf of Kodak would have you believe that the fairer sex would be happier with a digital compact than clothing or beauty products this Christmas.
Press release:
Christmas shopping for friends and loved ones can make even the most experienced shopper break out in a sweat - what to buy the woman who has everything? The latest survey from Kodak reveals that you won’t go wrong with a gadget – over one in five of the women surveyed would put the latest must-have technology item at the top of their Christmas wish list.

When Kodak asked women their thoughts on finding a gadget under the Christmas tree, almost 70% of those surveyed said they would be ecstatic or pleased. Interestingly, technology gifts are popular with all ages and generations – people over the age of 55 are just as likely to put a gadget on their gift list as the 16-24 year olds. The survey also revealed that the digital camera is the item that most people would like to receive, followed by SatNav, mobile phones, MP3 Players and camcorders.

It seems that stylish gadgets are the current ‘hot accessories’ as statistics show they are rising in popularity amongst women. The Kodak survey revealed that the highest proportion of women surveyed would prefer to receive the latest technological toy instead of clothing and beauty products for Christmas. The survey also revealed that gadgets are hugely popular throughout the year and not just during the festive period - over 70% of women have already treated themselves to a technology product this year, highlighting the increasing popularity of gadgets and gizmos amongst women.

Of the women who have requested a digital camera for Christmas, almost half say it is because they hate missing out on picture taking opportunities including holidays, Christmas and birthdays. A further 30% of women say a digital camera would make the ideal present as they have a very keen interest in photography and one in five claim it is because they love the convenience of being able to store and view pictures on camera.

For those who wish to purchase gadgets as gifts for friends and loved ones this Christmas, Kodak’s digital portfolio offers a wide variety of stylish digital cameras, printers and accessories. Perfect gifts for the most stylish woman include the stunning Kodak EasyShare V705 digital camera, which is small enough to drop into a purse or handbag for outings at Christmas parties this year.

Taking pictures

The Kodak EasyShare V705 – the world’s smallest ultra-wide-angle optical zoom digital camera – is literally bursting with innovative features and functions that will help users take the perfect picture this Christmas. In addition to being super sleek and good looking, the V705 boasts 7 megapixels and 5X optical zoom.

Sharing & editing pictures

The Kodak EasyShare Gallery enables people to organise, edit and share pictures with friends and family, as well as get real Kodak prints. It is also possible to order a wide range of beautiful, original gifts including personalised canvases, photo books and even playing cards.

Printing pictures

Real Kodak photos can be printed quickly and easily within seconds using one of the many Kodak Picture Kiosks located at high street retailers, including Boots stores, throughout the UK. Alternatively, people can print pictures in the comfort of their own home or on the move using the Kodak EasyShare G600 printer. The printer’s clever and intuitive features include a built-in handle, smart paper tray storage and a battery, making portability a breeze and enabling on-the-go printing. EasyShare printer docks also allow one-touch printing and, when combined with the EasyShare software, picture-takers can show their creative side by making personalised photo greeting cards.

The Kodak survey was executed by tickbox.net and included a total survey sample base of 1,090.
