Online stores beat duty-free camera prices
Posted: 16 Nov 2009
Cameras are not always cheaper in duty-free - Are you jetting off for some winter sun and are you considering purchasing a camera as you go through duty-free? Well you might want to think again.
Check camera prices online before you head to the airport as they may be cheaper.
|
Which? magazine looked at the price of 44 digital cameras that could be purchased from Dixons Travel and found that 22 cameras were cheaper in online stores. However, when it came to the High Street, the duty-free store virtually beat all the prices.

As they say always know price points and thus you can always find deals if you do the research.
I found the camera stores across from each their was CD$200.xx difference in the price of the PENTAX DL2 which I purchased along with the one with the better deal gave me money for my used equipment thus I saved even more.

Dixons Tax Free seem to be the main shop for cameras and electrical widgets in UK airports, never as cheap as buying online though. Also, their limited stock of SLRs seems pretty random as to what they have in.

I understand the Sony A700, EU model, comes without a grip sensor, so the only way to get one with that feature included would be overseas.
