Web User Magazine
All new Pentax User website
Press Release:
The Pentax User club has a quarterly magazine for Pentax subscribers and the website has always been a secondary supporting feature for club members. The redesign now links the club members and registered online visitors to various new features including a gallery, competitions, classified ads and profile sections.
Daniel Bell, site administrator comments: “With the huge growth in SLR sales, Pentax has begun to take back share in a sector where it was once a major player. With products such as the award-winning K10D and the new K20D the brand is back as a force to be reckoned with. The Pentax User Club gives consumers who've invested in the Pentax brand a place to discuss photography and share photographs with like-minded Pentax camera owners. The revamped website is designed to strengthen the online community aspects.”
The new site has free access to all areas and registered users can upload photos for feedback and comment on other photos. The gallery has 18 subject categories which can be searched by category, tags, most viewed or latest uploads.
The forum has 15 categories to discuss everything from cameras and lenses to accessories as well as techniques, meetings or troubleshooting.
The Pentax User club was founded over 30 years ago and has been steered by several editors and its magazine has seen many developments over the years. Magezine Publishing took over the club and launched a basic website in 2001. This is the first significant upgrade to the website and embraces a whole new set of features that brings the site to a wider web-savvy audience.
Features of the subscription-based element of the club include a quarterly magazine, gallery competition and discount on Pentax-related products, along with discounts on camera servicing and camera insurance and a regular informative email newsletter. The website is free to join and participate.
