Renaissance photography competition

· 18 Sep 2007
Win a trip to Kenya - A new photographic competition in support of Breast Cancer has been launched, with prizes such as a trip for Kenya up for grabs as well as £500 worth of Calumet equipment vouchers.

Press Release: Renaissance Photography Competition

The competition, entitled Renaissance, will be held in aid of the Lavender Trust for Breast Cancer Care, and is being supported by the likes of model turned photographer Helena Christensen. Judges of the competition include former Guardian picture editor Eamonn McCabe, singer/songwriter KT Tunstall, photographer Mary McCartney and Eve magazine editor Sara Cremer.

Entries must be submitted electronically, black and white or colour digital or analogue images on the theme of Renaissance. Life is full of moments when the human spirit triumphs over adversity, when the human eye suddenly sees the world from a new perspective, when we rediscover a sense of awe and wonder. You are invited to capture through the lens those instances when we suddenly see the beauty, value and meaning of life.

Entry fees are £15 for a single image and £25 for a series of up to six related images, all proceeds of which will be donated to the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care. The closing date for entries is 22:00 GMT on Monday 10th December.

Prizes

  • First prize - Six nights on safari in Masai Mara, Kenya.
  • Second prize - £500 vouchers for photography equipment at Calumet

30 finalist images will also get the chance to exhibit and sell their images at Proud Gallery in London, and selected entries will be published in a special book of the competition.
