Samsung Digimax i70 Digital Camera Review

Posted: 6 Feb 2008
Samsung Digimax i70 Review - SNAP SHOT REVIEW - Matt Grayson checks the word on the street about the Samsung Digimax i70.

A small, minimal camera with 7Mp, 3x optical zoom and a huge 3in screen. Coupled with the design, this is a camera to target the younger generation.

The resolution of the camera will print to A3 without any problems and with only a regular 3x optical zoom, don't expect to crop into subjects very far away.

The large 3in screen dominates the back as, when the camera is closed, pictures and videos can be viewed on the screen.

The lens and controls slide out of the side of the camera, so, look out for pushing it back in by accident or putting fingers over the lens.

Suitable for: Everyday use, style conscious

Samsung Digimax i70What everyone else says:
Cameras.co.uk:
"The Samsung Digimax i70 is a stylish and smart camera. It has a sliding body and can also be used as an MP3 player. As far as I am concerned that is probably the end of the good news."

What Digital Camera: "There is no doubt a small demographic that will appreciate the i70's novelty value and multi-purpose functionality. Unfortunately, as is the case with a lot of all-in-one combo's, the i70 doesn't particularly excel in any area."

Samsung Digimax i70 Our verdict
The style of the camera will keep the style conscious drooling for a while with the Victorian styling on the Pink and Gold models coupled with the novel sliding lens design.

Those of you who want to avoid this camera are the ones who want more creatively out the camera and, according to the other sites, the ones who want decent pictures.

RESULT:

The Samsung Digimax i70 costs around £149 and is available from the ePHOTOzine shop here.
