Nikon 1 J4 Silver (5)

The new Nikon 1 J4 has a host of features that make caking more artistic and creative images a lo easier. Here, we're taking a closer look at Creative Palette, allowing you to simply add filters to your images for studio quality images.

The Creative Palette function uses the touch screen to make it super easy to customise your image to exactly the way you'd like it. Simply slide your finger around the ring on the touch screen or rotate the multi selector to apply filters to varying strengths and effects.

Nikon 1 J4 Creative Palette DSC 0282 | 1/125 sec | f/5.6 | 30.0 mm | ISO 720   Nikon 1 J4 Creative Palette DSC 0283 | 1/125 sec | f/5.6 | 30.0 mm | ISO 640   Nikon 1 J4 Creative Palette DSC 0287 | 1/100 sec | f/5.6 | 30.0 mm | ISO 800

The image on the screen will change in live time, so you can see what the image will look like. The mode allows you to change colours subtly in the image, from black and white, to muted, pastel colours through to more vivid warm tones by sliding your finger around the dial. When you're happy, press the shutter.

To access Creative Palette, turn the mode dial on your Nikon 1 J4 to Creative shooting mode, the black camera with a 'c' next to it on the dial. This mode will them let you choose from several creative shooting modes including P, A, S, M, HDR, Easy panorama, Soft, Miniature effect, Selective colour, Cross process, and Toy camera as well as the Creative Palette mode.
