Agfa has launched the 7th International Prize for Young Photojournalism.
The competition regularly attracts projects by young photographers from almost forty countries, and the prize is one of the world's most prestigious awards for photojournalism with a value of E 15,000.
Its aim is to give talented young photojournalists an opportunity to create photojournalistic projects independently and in the greatest possible artistic and creative freedom, without being subject to the dictates of a client.
A jury made up of journalists and photographers of international standing will evaluate the works, and a touring exhibition with the works of the best participants and a catalogue are planned.
The closing date of the competition is 30 April 2003, and photographers up to the age of 35 are eligible to enter.
Agfa's partner in the competition is again Das BildForum, Herten, the organiser and sponsor of the International Photo Festival in Herten. The award ceremony will again be held as part of this major German photo festival next year.
More information on the competition can be found at www.dasbildforum.de/preis, and entry details are available from Agfa's UK HQ.
