AgfaPhoto Selecta 14

Sporting a black and silver design, the AgfaPhoto Selecta 14 is available from Currys / PC World, and features a 15x optical zoom lens, 14 megapixel CCD sensor with image stabilisation, a 2.7inch screen and full manual controls. The camera takes four AA batteries, and offers 300 shots with alkaline, or 500 with rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries. We had a quick look at the camera, and it appears to have a rather striking resemblance to the GE X5, with a neat looking menu system and live histogram. The AgfaPhoto Selecta 14 is available for £139. More details can be found below.

These look very similar to some of the Fuji FinePix range of cameras - are they made by Fuji?

Quote: are they made by Fuji

More than likely as Agfa have not made anything for years, They are pretty much just a name that was bought out long ago....Sad

Shame really because back in the day, They made some rather nice film cameras...Smile

Such is the way of the world today....Wink

Just look at the way " AgfaPhoto " has been slapped on the front....Sheesh!!!!

Looks cheap and nasty they might have bothered to find the old " Agfa " logo and do the job properly........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YUK! And that god awful red dot, Whats that all about...?

I think you will find that Leica cameras had a red dot but I believe they have now stopped that on their latest digital cameras.

Are they trying to suggest that the AGFAPHOTO is in the same league as the Leica ! !

Apart from the name on the front it really is the Panasonic GE X5 isn't it? That didn't fair too well on the performance front in the review here on ePhotozine either.

Premier imaging make em, who make cameras for most if not all the majors and the many cheap jacks around the world. Might be owned by Sanyo who claimed to be worlds largest digicam manufacturer a few years back.
