Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt sell first pics of baby twins

The first photographs of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's baby twins, born on Saturday by caesarean section, have been sold for an estimated $11m making it one of the biggest baby deals ever. The twins, a boy and a girl named Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, join the family of six which consist of daughter Shiloh Nouvel, 2, and adopted children Maddox, 6, Pax, 4 and Zahara, 3.

The couple revealed that they have sold the rights for the first photographs to a US publication and will be donating the proceeds to charity although they have not yet given any further details. Images of their daughter Shiloh Nouvel, born in June 2006 were sold to People magazine for $4.1m, the proceeds of which were donated to a children's charity. The first images of their adopted children were also sold to People magazine.

The family are rumoured to be leaving the hospital during the night to avoid the paparazzi.
