Goucho © Adam Hinton, Silver Award (Daily Life) and Best in Document Prize 2007.

Having been previewed at the Photography Awards 2007 in March of this year, AOP Document begins its tour at the AOP Gallery, London.  Faced with a record number of entries, the judges selected a stunning collection of imagery, being both pertinent to today's photo journalistic styles along with covering current and long standing political issues.  AOP Document 2007 displays the highest quality seen yet in this recently added category.

AOP Member Adam Hinton scooped up the Silver Award along with the Best in Document Prize of £2,500.  Hinton's commissioned series titled Goucho, captures South American cowboys on horseback driving the cattle to market in traditional ways. Bronze awards went to Adrian Brown (Daily Life), Tim A Hetherington (News) and Massimo Mastroillo (Feature).

This years judges were, photographers: Tim Flach and Simon Norfolk, Nick Galvin - Magnum, Harry Hardie - The Times and Nishani Kampfner - SS Robin Gallery.

A new category added to the Photographers' Awards in 2005, Document was introduced to recognise the importance of documentary photography to the industry.  The exhibition at the AOP Gallery will display all the selected images.  Comprising, News, Sport, Feature and Daily Life.

In its third year, AOP Document 2007 showcases the very best of Photo Journalism from award winning photographers.  AOP Gallery will display all 72 selected images comprising of News, Sport, Feature and Daily Life from 31 July - 8 August.
