The AOP Open is one of the only major photographic competitions accessible to everyone; vivid, eclectic and full of imagination, it pushes the boundaries of contemporary photography through an exploration of its power and diversity. 84 images have been selected from a record breaking 1,700 entries, by our panel of industry professionals, representing photography at it’s most compelling. The entire exhibition can be viewed at www.aop-open.com and offers visitors the chance to vote for their favourite to win the Public Choice Award.
Judges this year represented a variety of professional backgrounds and industries: Diane Smyth, Deputy Editor of the British Journal of Photography; Adam Dawe, Photographer; Terri Manduca, Photographer’s Agent; Henry Saunderson; Senior Designer at Fitch; and Terence Pepper, Curator of Photographs at the National Portrait Gallery.
Now in its eighth year, the Association of Photographers Open competition goes from strength to strength and continually surprises with the originality and creativity of the work on show. A search for outstanding imagery with the highest standards met in all genres, it offers a rare opportunity for amateurs, emerging photographers and established professionals to contend on a level playing field.
The online exhibition allows the public to vote for their favourite image from the 84 shortlisted by the industry judges. The most popular image will receive the Public Choice Award, alongside the awards presented for the judges’ best in show selection. By casting your vote online you will also be entered into the prize draw to win an Epson Stylus Photo R360 printer.
