The AOP Open is the competition in which professional photographers, assistants, students and keen amateurs all compete on equal terms. There are no categories in this competition – the nature of the Open is to recognise excellence in photography by showcasing individual shots that demonstrate talent, skill and exceptional imagery. This year the AOP received hundreds of images from around the world.

Selected by panel of five top industry professionals, from approximately 1,500 images entered, the winners were announced at a packed Prize Giving ceremony at the Dray Walk Gallery, Truman Brewery. The winners are:
  • Stephen Spencer-Smith - Best In Show
  • Alice Luker - Public Choice Winner
  • Terry Graham - Judges Choice (Rhiannon Reid)
  • Oliver Haupt - Judges Choice (Jim Naughten)
  • Dennis Muir - Judges Choice (Diane Smyth)
  • Guy Sargent - Judges Choice (David Sykes)
  • Dougie Wallace - Judges Choice (Ed Webster)
65 images have been selected and the entire exhibition will be on show at the Dray Walk Gallery, Truman Brewery, 13-16 October, Friday 11-8pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm. For more information please visit The Awards website.
