Basic Tips On Using ArcSoft Perfect365 - Quick Q & A on using Perfect365 portrait editing software.
Perfect365 is ArcSoft's beauty retouching software that allows users to edit portraits with quick-to-use templates. For those who are new to the software, here are a few basic answers to questions you may have about getting started with the software.
Most common files formats such as JPG, PNG, TIFF and BMP are supported for both importing and exporting.
What File Formats Does Perfect 365 Support?
What's The Highest Photo Resolution The Software Supports?
Can Faces In A Group Shot Be Individually Edited?Perfect365 can detect up to 20 faces in a photo and each face can be retouched separately. The faces detected appear as thumbnails above the preview area and you need to click on the thumbnail of the face you wish to edit.
How Do I Open An Image?Once you have the software open click the 'Open a Photo' button to import one of your own images. Sample photos are also available if you don't want to use one of your own straight away. Portraits where the subject is face-on to the camera produce the best results.
What Are Pre-Set Style Templates? The software provides various templates which can be applied to images with one click. These templates include various makeup styles.
How Do I Apply A Template?Templates can be found in a panel to the left of the screen and they can be applied in-turn by simply clicking on them. To remove the applied template, simply click again and you'll be able to view the original shot.
When ArcSoft add more templates to the Perfect365 template database the 'More' button found to the bottom-left of the screen will be highlighted. When this happens, click 'More' and a window will open showing the new templates which are available. To add them to your software, click 'Download' and the new templates will automatically be added to the list of one-click templates.
How Can The Templates Be Applied More Accurately? The software automatically detects points on the face which allow the results it applies to be more accurate. However, if you find the key points aren't in the right locations, they can be adjusted. Click 'Adjust Key Points' found on the upper left of the screen to adjust these points. When happy, click 'Return To Makeup'. There is a demo available in the software on adjusting key points.
Can I Edit The Template Or Make My Own Adjustments? If you're using Photo365 (not the standard edition) you can change the template, adjust the intensity and colour. Tools are also available which allow you to edit various aspects of the portrait.
To manually adjust your image you need to access the custom styles panel found to the right of the screen. If it's not showing there's an arrow found in the middle of the right edge which can be clicked to make the panel appear. Any settings applied / changed can be previewed on the photo and to apply a style, simply check the box next to the style you wish to apply. To remove an effect, uncheck the box.
The following tools are available and next to each tool name we've included information on what each of the tools do:
- Skin tools - Remove blemishes, circles and shine, change the blush, soften skin and adjust foundation.
- Face tools - Slim the face, lift cheeks and enhance the nose.
- Eyes tools - Adjust eyeliner, add coloured contacts, change the eye colour, adjust eyeshadow, change eye lashes, brighten eyes, enlarge eyes and reshape eyebrows.
- Mouth tools - Whiten teeth, change lipstick and deepen smiles.
What If I Want To Remove An Edit?To go back a step click the 'Undo' icon or you can remove all edits by clicking the 'Reset' icon.
Is There A Way To View The Before And After Effects? To compare your original image with the edited version click the B|A button.
How And Where Can Images Be Saved?Images can be saved to the computer hard drive by clicking the 'Save As' button found on the bottom right of the screen. At this point, the output size, output name and the output folder can be selected. A Favourites folder is available where retouched images can be stored. To do this, click the 'I Love It!' button. To view images in this folder click the 'View My Favourites' button. If there are images you wish to remove from this folder place your mouse cursor over the photo thumbnail and click 'Delete'.
Images can be also added to social network feeds via the 'Share' button.
