Grandad
The overall winning shot from the AsukaBook 'Image is Everything' photography competition. Photo by DannoM.

After some deliberation, the judges of the AsukaBook 'Image is Everything' photography competition have finally picked their winners. So, without further ado, the three winners are:
All three winners receive £500 worth of exclusive AsukaBook photobook products. DannoM also walks away with the overall winner title, giving him £1000 worth of AsukaBook photobook products.

Here's what the judges had to say about each image:

"We chose Higger, Tor, Derbyshire because of the way it captured the landscape in its original form and allows the viewer to feel that they are in that place looking at the scene.  The image vividly shows how the setting sun changes the colours of the landscape. The shot's full of warmth and it manages to makes the already stunning landscape appear even more beautiful to look at. The stones in the foreground lead the eye to the dominating rock formation but it's not so overpowering that you miss the fields that seem to stretch for miles in the distance. It's a lovely shot and a well deserved winner.

The Milky Way over the Petrel stunning picture that manages to capture the detail in both the old whaling ship and the milky way.  The photographer has given a lot of thought into capturing the image from the right angle to show detail in the whole scene.   The detail in the sky is amazing and it's very hard to pull your eyes away from it, however when you do, the boat is just as interesting to look at with it's rust, peeling paint and other details keeping the eye busy. It's simply wonderful! A real breath-taking image.

Grandad is a very simple picture that shows the full emotion of the subject.  The photographer has found a perfect balance of light and dark to show the ageing skin whilst allowing the vibrancy and twinkle in the man’s eye to shine through. It's a great character portrait that's bursting with life as well as excellent technique. The shot's full of detail and the slight smile on the man's face leaves the viewer wondering what he's looking at or thinking. It's a portrait that a story could easily be built around and one that's well worth it's accolade."
