Press Release:

General Imaging, the exclusive worldwide licensee of GE-branded Digital Cameras, are getting ready to wow trade, consumer and media visitors at Photokina this year. As well as its existing range of eight cameras General Imaging will be introducing two new models; the E1055W and A1030.

General Imaging, who can be found in Halle 5.1 booth C-10, will be providing a warm welcome for distributors, buyers and journalists, either at one-to-one briefings in relaxed and comfortable meeting rooms, or in the happy hour bar later in the day.

Consumers are also well catered for. As well as having the opportunity to try out cameras, within its 1,100 sq metre stand, an impressive stage will host regular theatre shows for visitors.

But it will be the cameras that stand out. The new E1055W is an attractively designed camera that boasts advanced features as standard and some exciting in-camera functions. With 10.1 mega pixels and an extra large 3 inch high resolution LCD screen and aspheric all-glass lens, the E1055W offers everything you need for the perfect image. Advanced features include blink and smile detection, in-camera panoramic stitching and a movie recording capability, making it an impressive new addition to the range. Other standard features include face detection, image stabilisation and red-eye removal.

The 28mm (35mm equivalent) wide angle lens combined with a 5 x optical zoom and 4.5 x digital zoom gives great versatility and excellent results for both close-ups and wide group shots.

The on-screen instructions and function symbols are so simple and easy to follow making it an ideal choice for a photography novice and also a wise choice for those people who expect a better quality picture.

What's more, the E1055W's design is just as advanced as the camera's functions. The 22.5mm slim, lightweight aluminium body and sleek, stylish and intuitive design ensure the camera is attractive, practical and easy to carry.

The A1030 is a small camera that packs a big punch with its easy to use advanced features such as; face detection, blink and smile detection, image stabilisation, in-camera panoramic stitching, MPEG4 movie with sound and red-eye removal, as well as 14 different scene modes.

The 2.5 in LCD screen on this slim styled 10 mega pixel digital camera with 3 x optical zoom and 4.5 x digital zoom means the A1030 is an exceptional addition to the existing range and adds a new dimension to the ‘A' range that are all powered by AA batteries.

General Imaging Europe Ltd. holds the exclusive licence to design, manufacture and distribute GE Digital Cameras in Europe. Heading up the team is Katsuhiko Watanabe, a veteran of the photo industry with over thirty years' experience in many companies including Polaroid, Tokina and Hoya. He says: "We're looking forward to exhibiting at Photokina for the first time; and we're not doing it by halves, with our 1,100sq metre stand, we recognise the opportunity to really show off what our cameras are all about."
