We have introduced many new seminars this year for fellow photographers with diversification in mind, from how to photograph dogs, bumps and babies and ladies in lingerie through to digital enhancement celebrity style! Many have chosen, and rightly so in these challenging times, to take the bull by the horns and stretch their existing abilities in order to offer a wider range of services within their photographic product range. Being in business is a game and a funny one at that! Those who anticipate the next market move and prepare for it will no doubt reap the rewards.
As I have mentioned in past blogs, networking is a major feature in my working life. I have met some fabulous people from all walks of life in the last six months alone with whom I have explored my new ideas for the business. If you could stop the clock for a week, what would you like to be doing with all of your ideas? Take some time now to ponder this. So often, as creative people, we have ideas on ideas but where are they heading? Are they ever realised? Right now, today, what are you doing to turn your dreams into reality, to utilise your knowledge and passion, fuel your motivation and develop photographically for the ultimate benefit of the bank balance?
Look back on this week, what have you achieved? Look forward at the week ahead, what do you want to achieve? What will inspire you? Consider the needs of the business and your own. Keep your eyes open and your radar wide. I have many plans for the month ahead in this regard. Do I know exactly where they will take me? No. But I sense that it will be somewhere and that that somewhere will be positive. It was a wise person who said, ‘you have to be in it to win it!’ and never a truer word has been spoken. Until we speak again – good luck!
