Blackpool Illuminations Switch On - The Blackpool Illuminations are being turned on, so why not get out there and take some night shots?

If you're stuck for something to do this weekend, why not take a visit to Blackpool and practise your night time photography on the illuminations, which are turned on from tonight, 31 August, until 4 November 2012.
Take a look at our article 'introduction to night photography' to help you get some great shots.
The event is also great for crowd photography, and there will be a great atmosphere on the opening night. There were 23,000 free tickets to the opening night event! The illuminations are free, and anyone can walk along the promenade to see them until 4 November 2012.
