The BPPA founded 13 years ago, has become along with its sister organisation the SWPP, one of the fastest growing and progressive organisations of its kind within the UK. Such has been the success that the organisation now feels that the time is appropriate to share the benefits of membership with students, who while paying a reduced subscription can utilise all of the advantages of full membership.

The BPPA has operated a successful qualification structure of the years and currently offers accreditation's of Licentiate (LBPPA), Associate (ABPPA) and Fellowship (FBPPA), giving a reciprocal qualification for those qualified with the RPS, MPA or BIPP. Reaching a point in the BPPA development it is felt that it would be appropriate to open the membership to students of photography at an affordable price.

With this in mind the BPPA has extended the reciprocal qualifications structure to include the following accreditation's: A Level Photography, Grade A or B, City & Guilds 9231 Photography Course, 5 modules - City & Guilds Senior Award - Licentiateship, BTEX ND in Photography, Open College of the arts "Art of Photography", Social Documentary or Landscape Award will be awarded a Licentiate LBPPA and Degree in Photography or BTEC HND in Photography will be awarded Associate-ship (ABPPA).

The greatly reduced fee offered students is 28 for a 12-month period or while continuing photographic education, as opposed to the full time membership rate of 72.30.

The BPPA is very interested in working more closely with colleges and universities to further the advancement of image making.

Said Phil Jones BPPA & SWPP Chief Exec. 'We recognise that today's students are tomorrow's professionals, we provide ongoing support so that the industry can move from strength to strength'.
