Calumet launch Museum - Calumet have introduced a new line of Super-Premium rag and alpha-cellulose fine-art papers.
Press Release:
Brilliant Museum digital media have been especially formulated to meet the high standards of the most discriminating fine art printers. Manufactured in Germany to exacting standards, these cotton and alpha cellulose fine art papers are optimally coated for the latest pigment inks but will also secure superb results with dye-based inks. They are capable of yielding extremely high resolution and amazing colour depth.
Each surface and base was carefully selected to meet the high standards and preferences of the most discriminating fine-art printer. The Satin Matte is a 100% cotton rag substrate media and features a rich, satin matte surface that, unlike some matte surface papers, is not a dead or flat matte. Our special Silver Gloss papers are acid-free, alpha-cellulose papers that emulate the classic air-dried glossy fibre-based traditional silver-halide papers of the master black & white printers.
Both the Satin Matte and Silver Gloss are available in two, different base tones:
A non-brightened, neutral base that is not the usual dull yellow found on many of the non brightened, fine-art papers on the market.
And a slightly, optically-brightened, yet archivally proper, white base that is elegantly subtle while still adding the punch from which some images really benefit.
All four types are a heavy, 300 gram/square meter weight with a thickness of between 18 and 19 mils. (Depending on type.)
New Museum Paper, including sample packs, will be available to purchase from all Calumet branches from the 4th November.
