Dave Cuthbert, Calumet’s Director of Retail said: “This investment in upgrading the Belfast operation signals the group’s intent to continue to grow its imaging business and trade through challenging times. It’s a strategic decision taken with the future in mind. From August 4 our new-look store will provide both our professional and serious amateur customers with a new and dynamic ‘one-stop’ shopping environment, with a wider product portfolio than ever and an expanded rental option.

He added: “We are also launching seminar facilities as part of our ongoing commitment to develop training programmes for photographers in Northern Ireland and the surrounding areas.

Branch manager Jenny Woods is also planning a week-long ‘relaunch celebration programme’ in September.

She said: “These are exciting times for us and this move underlines our commercial ambition in the city. Our customers know we are not just ‘pile ‘em high box-shifters’. We are here for the long haul to provide our customers with unmatched service and advice - dispensed by highly trained staff.

We are looking to recruit additional staff in coming months and photographers will also benefit from our decision to open on Saturdays at Boucher Road.”
