Calumet plan new photography seminar programme - Calumet is set to launch a brand new Learning Curve autumn seminar/workshop programme aimed at both professional and advanced amateur photographers which will cover the key challenges faced by photographers today

Chris West, the photographic companys newly appointed Head of Marketing, plans a raft of new initiatives in coming months including a comprehensive and renewed focus on the retailers vendor partners.

He said: We are looking at ways we can work even more closely with our suppliers and also at how we can add further value for our customers. Our new Learning Curve seminar agenda begins in September and our expert speakers will give photographers across all disciplines, and across a wide gamut of experience, the chance to increase their profitability and efficiency through the learning process.

He added: We will cover all the key challenges faced by photographers in todays highly competitive environment, including the basics of digital capture and output, colour management and studio lighting.

West, 54, the former publications manager and marcoms specialist at Calumet joined the company in 2002 following previous posts in marketing at Spicers and Action Computers.

New Calumet MD Joe Clark announced Wests promotion to Head of Marketing along with news that Alan Riches, the groups former purchasing manager is to be the new Director of Operations at the companys Milton Keynesbased HQ.

Calumets flagship branch in Eustons Drummond Street is set for a major refit. The work will be completed by late autumn.

Added West: Drummond Street will be a world class photographic flagship showroom. It will be the largest professional photographic store in the UK and will incorporate new state of the art seminar facilities to rival any in the industry.
