Press Release: Cameramac

Cameramac, the creation of photographer’s wife Judith Bagnall was originally developed for professional sports photographers to protect their cameras and lenses in wet weather.

Judith’s husband, award winning Midlands photographer David Bagnall travelled the country taking Premier League and Championship football pictures in all weathers, at grounds from Plymouth to Newcastle, but constantly moaned about his precious equipment being damaged by dust and rain.

Judith decided to set about designing and hand-making an individual made-to-measure waterproof protective cover to fit long lenses and specific camera bodies, whilst retaining constant use and accessibility to settings and controls. The latest Cameramac has now been modified to ensure a universal fit to the eye-piece of any SLR camera and is currently in use by many sports, wildlife and press photographers around the world.

Nick Potts, sports photographer for the Press Association said “This is a vital piece of my equipment, it really works, allowing me to concentrate on the action rather than worry about keeping the camera dry and also tucks neatly away in my laptop bag ready for when the clouds open”.

Renowned landscape photographer John Gravett, who runs Lakeland Photographic Holidays said: ”A measure of how good the Cameramac is, is the fact that many of our guests own one themselves by the time of their second visit.”

Keeping it in the family, the couple’s son Edward, himself a regional press photographer, has designed and created a striking new user-friendly website to cater for the many enquiries from both keen amateurs and professionals alike. The Cameramac retails from £35 to £55.
