Canon to release 40D? - Internet reports claiming that the Canon EOS 40D had been spotted on the CIPA PictBridge Certified models list may have been more wishful thinking than anything else
Press Release:
When ePHOTOzine checked, the Canon 40D, claimed to appear on the list, wasn't there. Either it never existed in the first place, or it has subsequently been removed.
Various sites such as PhotographyBlog and Engadget reported the much anticipated follow up to the 30D, citing the CIPA document as their source, but when the claims were investigated, there was no evidence to suggest the claims may be valid. Sorry guys.

Just to put your story straight...
As we clearly stated in our article, the listing was removed earlier today. We did take a screenshot though as proof (included at the end of the article).
You were obviously too late when you checked (despite the listing being online since the 17th).
DCViews.com also ran a similar story (they actually spotted the listing first, credit where credit's due).
You might also want to consider linking out to the article on PhotographyBLOG or Engadget, so your visitors can read the source story.
