Canon add two high performance Compact Digital Camera's to their PowerShot range -
Continuing to build on leading technologies, the PowerShot S30 and PowerShot S40 incorporate a stylish new look, high performance features and direct printing capabilities.
The PowerShot S40 and PowerShot S30 offer users 4 megapixel and 3 megapixel images respectively as well as a host of features which give users advanced photographic control. Both cameras incorporate a high-resolution 3X optical zoom lens (35- 105mm equivalent), RAW image recording mode, new Digital Signal Processor and RGB filter to ensure that images are of the highest quality.
Canon's new PowerShot S series manages to effortlessly combine stylish looks with photographic flexibility. The two-tone compact metallic body features a sleek sliding lens cover and full manual and automatic SLR type controls, so that the camera feels reassuringly solid in the hand. The compact size of the PowerShot S30 and S40 enables the user to fit the camera snugly into a jacket pocket and therefore offers less chance of missing those special moments when a camera is not near or available.
Robert King, marketing manager, explains, 'The new PowerShot S series offers the amateur photographer a great combination of high image quality, stylish design and the ability to print direct to the Canon Card Photo Printer CP-10 for photo printing without a PC. This allows user to print fun sized, photographic style prints in just under a minute.'
Matching the functionality of a 35mm SLR camera, the PowerShot S30 and S40 have 13 shooting modes and 3 AF modes, continuous, single and 3 selectable AF points (including AiAF). The PowerShot S40 has a 3.6X step-less digital zoom (for 11x combined zoom) whilst the PowerShot S30 has a 3.2X step-less digital zoom (for 10x combined zoom). Both cameras feature a movie mode with sound and sound annotations. To ensure a stress free operation both cameras feature long-life Li-ion battery, quick start-up and instant shutter response. The cameras are compatible with Type-I and Type-II CompactFlash"! memory cards, and have a full range of powerful software for both PC and Macintosh, including the user-friendly Canon ZoomBrowser, PhotoStitch and PhotoRecord plus ArcSoft PhotoImpression and VideoImpression editing packages.
