Three out of the ten cameras featured in GfK’s Digital Still Cameras: Top Sellers 2007 list were Canon. Canon’s EOS 400D was the second most sold digital camera in the UK with over 146,000 units sold according to GfK data. This was closely followed by the Digital IXUS 70 in fourth place and the Digital IXUS 75 in ninth place - proving the continued popularity of Canon’s iconic IXUS range.
The success of the Digital IXUS 70 doesn’t stop in the UK; the stylish camera also proved to be the world’s most popular digital compact in 2007 with 2.8m models sold worldwide.
Guido Jacobs, Marketing Director, Canon UK, comments; “No other camera manufacturer featured in GfK’s Top 10 Digital Still Camera list as much as Canon. With consumers having the choice of over 1,050 different digital camera models on the UK market last year, this is a great achievement and one which we hope to build on in 2008.”
