Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6200Press Release:

Canon UK, world leader in imaging solutions, has announced two new 24” Large Format Printers (LFPs), the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6000S and the imagePROGRAF iPF6200.

The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6200 is a 12-colour pigment ink, A1 LFP, capable of producing a borderless print with outstanding colour rendition in just one minute and is ideal for the photography, fine art and proofing markets. Built-in colour calibration means that there is no need to use external calibration devices and the 2,400 x 1,200 dpi prints are lightfast for up to 100 years.

The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6200, in common with other members of the Canon imagePROGRAF range, features a highly efficient workflow with three media paths – roll and two manual feeds. This gives excellent reliability and productivity for photographers wishing to grow their revenue opportunities by investing in LFP technology and bringing print in-house.

The second product to be introduced is the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6000S, an 8‑colour pigment ink A1 LFP designed specifically for sign making and poster production. In a highly deadline-driven industry, the new LFP produces prints at blistering speeds of less than 1 minute.

Both devices are supplied complete with a range of software including Digital Photo Front Access, Adobe PhotoShop Plug-in and PosterArtist Lite – Canon’s poster creation tool. The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6000S also features Economy Printing Mode, which means less ink is consumed, giving low running costs and a great return on investment– a vital consideration for photographers, poster printers and sign-makers running their own business. Both devices come with an 80GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) as standard to process and store large print jobs.

Shane Burchett, LFP Product Professional, Canon UK said “These new additions to the Canon imagePROGRAF range demonstrate the increased revenue streams professional photographers can tap into by combining digital photography with effective output and solutions. At Canon, we have invested heavily into our LFP offering, launching 11 new devices in 2007 alone, resulting in an impressive 40% growth in sales. We are committed to providing the latest technologies to enable our partners in both the photographic and sign-making communities to profit from digital print.

Both new printers are in the same family as the multi-award winning Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6100, which scooped the Buyers Lab Inc (BLI) award for Outstanding Wide-Format Colour Inkjet Graphics Printer earlier this year. The imagePROGRAF LFP series has also been awarded the BERTL’S BEST 2008 award for Best Wide Format Low Volume Colour Printer in the Print-For-Pay Production Market range.
