Canon introduce new entry-level CanoScan LiDE 35 scanner - Flatbed scanner with Canon's LiDE sensor technology
"The CanoScan LiDE 35 is a crucial product for Canon - it is our star entry level scanner," said Malcolm Hills, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging, UK and Ireland. "With its striking looks, advanced technology and high speed performance, the CanoScan LiDE 35 offers unmatched quality and value for money."
LiDE scanners are renowned for their exceptional designs, which excel in both aesthetics and functionality. The clip-on vertical stand supplied saves valuable desk-space by allowing upright storage and operation, an option simply not possible with traditional CCD scanners. A clever Z-lid accommodates the scanning of bulky items such as books and magazines. A contemporary metal finish completes a sleek minimalist design, which combines with the scanner's tiny footprint to make the device suitable for both home and office environments.
The CanoScan LiDE 35 is the only scanner at this price point to offer image correction as advanced as that provided by Canon's QARE Level 2 software. This intelligent software automatically restores damaged and faded photos to their original brilliance by removing dust and scratches, re-saturating colour and reducing film grain effect with a few simple clicks. With its intuitive interface, QARE Level 2 is easy to use and saves hours of manual retouching.
High speed scanning
The combination of fast scanning engine, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface and Fast Multi-Photo mode ensure that the CanoScan LiDE 35 provides its high quality scans without wasting time: a full colour A4 preview takes just nine seconds. USB cable connection makes for automatic and immediate driver installation, while the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface is up to four times faster than conventional USB interfaces. Multi-Photo mode saves time by creating individual files from a single pass scan of multiple photos. Moreover, originals can be spread out on the glass with minimal regard for alignment or arrangement, since Multi-Photo automatically identifies, crops and de-skews individual images.
For increased functionality and additional value, the CanoScan LiDE 35 is bundled with high quality OCR, imaging and document management software.
Caere OmniPage SE - powerful, market-leading Optical Character Recognition application that scans text for conversion into recognisable text characters/data for editing. This saves hours of transcription and increases productivity by quickly turning PDF files and stacks of paper into word processing and spreadsheet documents.
ArcSoft PhotoStudioTM 5.5 - image-editing program featuring automatic colour and tone enhancement, automatic red eye removal, cloning, animated 3D text and over 40 special effects.
High quality and functionality
The CanoScan LiDE 35's 1200 x 2400 dpi CCD sensor allows a high level of photographic detail to be captured, while 48-bit internal colour depth ensures accurate colour reproduction.
Four 'EZ' buttons can be individually configured to perform commonly used functions, including scanning straight to a PDF file, scanning direct to the printer (digital copy function) or scanning automatically to a ready-to-go email attachment.
The CanoScan LiDE 35 is compatible with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and MAC OSX.
