Canon today announced the launch of the PIXMA iP4700 - the company’s best-performing A4 PIXMA to date.
The elegant PIXMA iP4700 is fast and easy to use, aimed at home users and photographers who want the ultimate performance. It intelligently combines Canon’s class-leading printing technologies, giving users great-looking results - whether printing plain text and graphics-based documents or producing photo lab quality prints of the users’ favourite images. Finished in smart gloss black with gunmetal highlights, the PIXMA iP4700 delivers several new or improved features for 2009. These include:
Intelligent, easy image correction with Auto Photo Fix IIPart of the Easy-PhotoPrint EX software, Auto Photo Fix II makes correcting colour, contrast and brightness detail in under-exposed images even easier. The programme automatically analyses images using multi-zone algorithms, before applying just the right amount of image correction so users get great-looking prints.
Smart and simple webpage clipping with Easy-WebPrint EX(Available for download via www.canon-europe.com) Easy-WebPrint EX makes it easier than ever to print content from the internet. Aimed at students, web surfers, or those carrying out online research, Easy-WebPrint EX include smart clipping technology that enables users to select the parts of a webpage they want, leaving out things like banner ads, and navigation bars behind. A fit to page option enables users to combine multiple clips into a single page, which can then either be printed to a user’s computer or even saved as PDF - saving both paper and ink.
Faster, better photo lab quality printsThe PIXMA iP4700 comes with a fast print engine that makes producing great-looking prints even easier. Canon’s 1pl FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology delivers print resolutions of up to 9600 dpi with five single ink tanks containing pigment black for text and dye-based cyan, magenta, yellow and photo black inks for colour prints. The PIXMA iP4700 is capable of producing approximately 9.2ipm (images per minute) in mono and approximately 8.1ipm in colour using the ISO/IEC 24734 speed measurement test.
The PIXMA iP4700 can produce a single borderless 10x15cm (4x6”) photo print in just 20 seconds.
Advanced media handling and connectivityThe PIXMA iP4700 comes with all the features users expect from a PIXMA, including a hi-speed USB 2.0 connection, a PictBridge port for connection to compatible digital cameras and digital video camcorders and an integrated paper tray, enabling users to print onto compatible CD-R and DVD media. The PIXMA iP4700 has a built-in auto duplex unit for automatic double-sided printing on plain paper, as well as two separate paper trays - one at the front for plain paper, and another tray at the back for plain and photo paper. Built-in LED indicator lights in the single inks make it easy for users to gauge when each cartridge needs replacing.
