Canon Powershot A560 - SNAP SHOT REVIEW - In another of our new concept snap reviews, Matt Grayson looks to see if your life will be barren without the Canon Powershot A560.
The Canon Powershot A560 is an upgrade of the budget A460 with higher resolution, larger screen and SLR style design.
Canon Powershot A560 Specification
- Resolution: 7.1Mp
- Zoom: 4x optical
- Processor: DIGIC III
- Focusing: 9-Point AiAF and Face Detection Technology
- Sensitivity: ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto
- Monitor: 2.5in LCD screen
- Modes: 14 shooting modes and My Colors
- Video: VGA movies with sound
- Sharing: PictBridge and Print/Share button
The Canon Powershot A560 is still aimed at the happy snapper with its easy-to-use controls and point-and-shoot simplicity. The resolution will easily print to A3 size for any enlargements and the High ISO rating will be good for low light or night time shooting.
The Inclusion of an optical viewfinder gives you the opportunity to preserve your batteries which are AA.
The raised bezel around the lens screws off to allow attachment of a lens adapter to boost the zoom or give a wider view. The telephoto adapter will be great for those holiday sightseeing areas that are cordoned off as the extra zoom power will bring the image closer to you and fill more of the photograph. The wide adapter is ideal for landscapes and will be great for photographing the beach or family photos. Be careful when at the beach as the camera is neither water or sandproof.
Suitable for: Holidays, group or family pics, people with bigger hands.
What everyone else says:
Cameras.co.uk: "You do have to pay more than with a true entry level model and while you may not get that much more in terms of features the picture quality is clearly a step up."
UK Digital Camera Review: "The 9-Point AiAF feature also ensures that subjects which are off-centre also have the correct focus."
Image Resourcing: "The Canon PowerShot A560 is a great all-around camera, able to meet the needs of a wide range of users."
Canon Powershot A560 Our verdict
The larger size of this camera is perfect for those of you with big hands and the high resolution will cope with any size you may want to print to.
If you're just bothered about getting good pictures of family groups, holidays and groups of people without the hassle, then get this camera.
The Canon Powershot A560 costs around £109 and is available from the ePHOTOzine shop here.
