Canon make a splash - Canon’s PowerShot A570 IS is being promoted by PADI International Ltd, a regional office of PADI, the world’s leading recreational diving organisation.
Press Release:
Canon UK’s PowerShot A570 IS digital camera has become a central part of the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course offered by PADI Professional Instructors to would-be underwater photographers. PADI is renowned for its interactive training courses, and PADI International Ltd, a regional office of PADI, is presently promoting the Canon PowerShot A570 IS, together with the Canon WP-DC2 underwater housing unit (rated to 40m depth) to more than 20,000 professional PADI members as a model camera for maximising their underwater photography experience.
A key feature for the camera is the manual white balance option, ideal for the digital underwater photographer. This allows the user to manually correct the colours in their underwater photographs to ensure that they are accurate. White balancing is also a feature of the PADI course.
Commenting, Mark Caney, Vice President of Training, Education and Memberships of PADI International Ltd, said, “The Canon PowerShot A570 IS packs a variety of high-end features into a remarkably compact camera making it ideal for aspiring aquatic photographers and divers. The camera combines ease-of-use with creative flexibility.”
