Software update leaks news of Rebel XS - Rumour has it that Canon are soon to be producing a Rebel XS / EOS 1000D entry level camera.
While Canon fans await the signs of a release of a 5D Mark II or 3D camera, a recent software update from Canon has suggested an entry level model may make an appearance first.
Version 3.4 of their DPP (Digital Photo Professional) RAW Image Update Converter mentioned a Rebel XS / EOS 1000D in its compatibility list, a model that does not yet exist. So does this mean it is soon to be hitting our shelves?
Speculation is furthered by the fact that the software update has now mysteriously disappeared.
Rumour has it that if the XS / EOS 1000D should appear any time soon, it will be a lower-end version of the Rebel XSi made to replace the outdated Rebel XT.
When asked to comment on rumours about the new model, Robyn Rendle, Canon's PR Coordinator said “Canon never comment on rumours regarding future products.“
Well, it's not a denial...
