Canon logoWith sales of Canon's single-lens reflex cameras going well, the company has decided to start work on a new factory.

Building plans, which were put on hold in January, will now start in July and the plant will start production early next year.

The $180 million plant, which will be built in Japan, was put on hold due to the global economic crisis, but thanks to sales of DSLRs continuing to blossom, the factory can now go ahead.
