Canon is recalling its S100 cameras due to a faulty lens.
The fault involves the lens getting stuck when fully extended due to a part breaking in the lens when the camera is subjected to high temperatures.
Only certain models are affected, those with serial numbers beginning with the numbers 29 through to those beginning 41. If your camera's serial number does begin with any of these numbers, then Canon say they will fix the fault for free if it is proven that this faulty component is the reason that it broke.
