Canto releases Cumulus Photo Suite

Canto announce Cumulus Photo Suite that lets users manage RAW image files from a wide array of digital cameras. Cumulus Photo Suite comprises the Cumulus Digital Camera RAW Filter and features the IPTC Information Window. This Option spans across the entire Cumulus product line encompassing the Single User, Workgroup and Enterprise Editions.

RAW image files are ‘digital negatives’ of excellent quality. When cataloging RAW image files, the Cumulus Digital Camera RAW Filter reads and interprets metadata from these images. The RAW Filter can capture metadata from different RAW image formats defined by the nine leading camera manufacturers, namely, Canon, Fuji, Kodak, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Sigma, Sinar and Sony. Photo Suite also supports Canon THM files with the Canon RAW Metadata Support module. Other information captured when cataloging include EXIF information (camera settings, shutter speed etc.) and, depending on the camera model, annotations and GPS as well. Users can also get excellent previews of cataloged RAW images easily. The user can select previews of stored thumbnails or RAW files.The filter settings for Color Interpolation can be set to obtain previews of varying quality and clarity.

This Cumulus Option is also user-friendly, in line with Canto’s philosophy of ensuring its users get the best DAM experience with its products. The IPTC Information Window lets users read and edit the captured metadata conveniently. The user’s experience is enhanced further with stored Quicklists that will be displayed simply with the right click of the mouse.

Photo Suite also offers the user all the advantages of maintaining the RAW format of images, with the flexibility of converting them to a different format when required. RAW images can be converted to TIFF or JPEG files on-the-fly with the Pixel Image Converter from Cumulus.
