Touit 2

The new Carl Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 lens is a new wide-angle lens for Sony NEX and Fujifilm X-Mount cameras, giving the equivalent of 18mm in 35mm terms. Here are a number of sample photos taken with the new lens and a Fujifilm X-Pro 1, as well as a number of other cameras.

The Carl Zeiss Touit Distagon 12mm f/2.8 lens comes with an aperture ring on the lens, with the same A setting for Automatic operation, whereas on the NEX version there is no aperture ring. There are two steps between each aperture marking, with more between f/2.8 and f/4.0.

The Carl Zeiss Touit Distagon 12mm f/2.8 lens is made of metal with some plastic parts to keep the weight down which will be useful for those who want their compact system camera as small and light as possible. The focus and aperture rings have a rubber ring to aid grip, and the lens feels extremely well built with rapid focus. Here are a number of sample photos provided by Carl Zeiss.

A superb Lens with all the quality and results you would expect from a high end Manufacturer..
I have noticed that several reviews comment on the fact that the focus Ring is rubber and the Hood is plastic.. I have no problems with this but I do think that the 'A' setting for auto on the aperture Ring could have been more positive as it is easy to move off while handling straight to f22...it would therefore have been better placed next to f2.8
light in weight and small enough to balance well on my Fuji X-Pro 1.
positively recommended...
