Chris Kay, one of the UK’s best-known names in the UK prolab world has resigned from his role as marketing manager at Glasgow-based Loxley Colour. In a statement, Kay said his decision had been prompted by 'family issues'.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Loxley” he said, "I have been lucky to have been part of a dynamic business that has grown from humble beginnings to become the UK’s leading prolab.

It greatly saddens me to leave but I fully intend to stay in close touch both with the lab and the industry.

I have made countless friends in the imaging business over the years but I would like to personally thank the lab’s owner Ian Loxley, his family and all the Loxley staff for their total support and friendship."

Ian Loxley, MD said: "We are extremely sad to see Chris leave us. His knowledge of the business, his smart vision and relentless enthusiasm have been formidable assets for us. Chris has been an integral part of this company’s growth over almost two decades. My door is always open to him and we all wish him well for the future."

Best wishes to Chris Kay - one of the most public faces of Loxley Colour and a man who has helped them grow the business to where they are today. I've been with them since they were in in the basement at the corner of Bath St and West Campbell St in Glasgow and to see where they have grown to is astonishing. Ian Loxley is quite right - I'd leave my door open for Chris Kay too.

All the best Chris - and thanks to Loxley for helping me to look good!!
