Since its launch in December 2007 Creative Handbook has fast gained a reputation as a comprehensive and easy-to-use directory for the creative industries. This week the site launches a new image search function, allowing users to search directly for photography, illustration and video relevant to the work they are looking to place.
Publisher Jessica Macdermot says: “The image search functionality is still a fairly unique feature for a creative online directory of this kind, and yet it is an invaluable tool for anyone visiting the site. We have listened carefully to our users and advertisers alike and hope that this added functionality will be the crowning glory of a site that has already established itself as an essential tool for the creative industry.”
The site also undergoes an expansion and improvement to its main directory search, with a new filtering function and the addition of a search-by-region option, opening the Handbook up to an international audience.
Professional photographer Michael Black, who has tested the new functions, says: “The second phase [of Creative Handbook] will make it easier for clients to view my work and my website… I particularly like the fact that I can now be found by location.”
