During October, ePHOTOzine decided to spoil our members by giving you not one, but four competitions! Entries were of the highest standard and the judges had a really tough time picking the winners.

So, without further ado...Phil Jefferies (phil-j), Cheryl Surry (csurry) and Phil Hargreaves (backbeat) have all won a Fuji F70EXR compact camera and go on to accept the Chester Zoo challenge with Pete.

The four judges said: "phil-j's shot taken at a zoo is an incredibly well timed shot that shows the interaction of animals on both sides of the glass. We like the way the animals are almost mirrored creating a strong diagonal through the photo.

csurry's shot would have been a difficult one to expose well and is a well balanced shot. We like the way the red squirrel is disturbing the snow as he runs and those flakes are caught mid air giving the shot a more action packed feel.

backbeat's shot is a superb manipulation of two apes all subtly toned to give a moody feel. Reminds us of the opening scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey. If Kubrick had filmed it like this the epic would have looked even more atmospheric.

Just for answering a simple questions, Ian Daisley, Janet Dewhirst, Rob Hill, Andy Ketteringham, Chris Waring, Samwise Wilson and Wendy Lilygreen all won a fantastic Kata 3in1-30 bag courtesy of our friends at Bogen Imaging UK.

October's landscape competition had some fantastic entries and we didn't envy the judges at Vanguard the task of choosing the winners.

Vanguard picked Jeanscape, by Karl Wood (Woollark) as the winning image, they said: “This is the ultimate example of exploring new angles! It’s different. Simple. And yet very creative! A nice call for imagination. Bravo!”

Dmull, Paul Bradburn (Daddycool), David Deveson and Adamo2o2 were also winners of some fantastic Vanguard kit.

The Daily Mirror's picture desk said this was the most difficult competition for them to judge yet as the shortlisted entries were absolutely outstanding. But after some deliberation, they picked Edgar Steward (Edgar) with Mini Mini Eggs as the winner.

The judges said: "The precision focusing coupled with the clever use of light used in an idea which we had never seen before, made the image stand out from the rest."

Well done to all our winners and thanks again to all our kind sponsors.

Unlucky this time? Then enter this month's competitions to be in with a chance of winning a Dell Studio XPS 16 Laptop, one of three Manfrotto tripods worth £270 each, an Extreme Photographer Suit and chair hides courtesy of Stealth Gear and a photography kit worth over £1,400.
