NikonLower digital camera sales and a stronger yen means the world's second biggest maker of cameras has cut its full year profit forecasts and is also reporting an overall net profit loss for the third-quarter of 2008.

Nikon reported a third-quarter net loss of 2.3 billion yen.

Nikon join other companies such as Jessops and Canon who have also reported losses blaming the economic slowdown for their current situations.

Whilst the so called " Credit Crunch " can be blamed for the effect on Nikon and other manafacturers throught the world....!

The rational in the recent spate of price rises, May also have contributed, Hence they appear to be shooting themselves in the foot...Sad

Why are they not happy with a smaller profit margin and a steady sales flow, Rather than the apparent greed to make as much as possible in a shorter time span....!

Could it be the need to feed the demand for bigger & better toy's, Or maybe to pay for the R & D that has gone into the stuff thats waiting to be released....Smile

That said I don't care, Because as it stands all my kit is now worth more on the second hand market, Than it cost me to buy brand new......Smile Now thats a turn around for ya......!
