ePHOTOzine member dandeakin
has been named Amateur Photographer of the Year 2012.
The competition consists of several themed rounds, after which 50 short listed entries are picked, and points are awarded to the individual photos for each round. The winner this year, ePHOTOzine's own dandeakin, scored 314 points.
Points are awarded for technical excellence, creativity, and how far each image image fulfils the brief of that particular round.
We contacted Dan to ask him about his win, and he felt elated from the news. “It feels great. I missed out to another ePHOTOzine member in 2009, when I came fifth in the competition, so I was determined to get back in there this year and see what I could do.” He said.
Dan, 32, is an orthopaedic surgeon and a photography enthusiast. His interests include documentary photography, black and white and environmental photography.
ePHOTOzine member derekhansen
