Big, Very Big

ePHOTOzine member david deveson has been crowned this week's Photo of the Week (POTW) winner.

The POTW is picked by ePHOTOzine's founder and Editorial Director, Peter Bargh, once a week and here's why he thought David's photo, Big, Very Big, was a worthy winner:

"We see a lot of photos posted each week on ePHOTOzine that include people in the shot. In fact, most of this week's POTW shortlist were people photos. But what stood out about this one was the placement of the two men in the frame - central but small, dwarfed by the surrounding shapes and almost silhouetted by the hazy out of focus background. The shapes of the monstrous aircraft frame the couple and lead your eye to them as a focal point. Careful framing removes the familiarity of the larger elements giving just enough necessary reference information. A perfect balance of man and machinery!"

POTW winners currently receive a £100 voucher from Pixum online photo printing. Take a look at the Photo of the Week Gallery where all shots that have received the award are displayed.

Is this going to be a new feature, Pete, talking about your choice of POTW?

Possibly...just trialling it to see if it gets shared, commented on, liked, viewed etc.

A great idea, how about doing it for the Editor's Choice as well (or at least a few of them)?

A 'like' from me. It was certainly interesting and instructional to see the rationale behind the decision.

Could take some time do do them all. Assuming that Pete has a short list of pictures of the week perhaps commenting on the winner and maybe the two runners up? Just an idea.
