ePHOTOzine member clive burrow
has been crowned this week's Photo of the Week (POTW) winner.
The POTW is picked by ePHOTOzine's founder and Editorial Director, Peter Bargh, once a week and here's why he thought clive burrow's
photo, My boat, was a worthy winner:
"This week's POTW winner allows me to make reference to the new VS gallery
. The random nature of the pairs selected to go up against each other has been criticised by some members as they do not think it fair to compare "Apples with Oranges". The POTW shortlist is like this every week, and although all the photos are exceptional, usually one image stands out and is an easy selection.
This week however I was faced with an impossible task of choosing one, from very different genres, all with similar incredible quality. We had eight photos displaying brilliant landscapes, close up landscapes, architecture, wildlife, action, night scene and concepts. All could have quite rightly taken the accolade of POTW. But there can be only one. So this week's was selected because it also got a Guest Editor Award, did really well in the new versus gallery and scored the highest amount of readers votes, so well done Clive for a shot that displays beautiful control of exposure in a backlit scene, along with super sharpness from the lead in ropes to the boat reflected in the wet sand. It's a popular type of composition but this one has the edge in technical skills."
POTW winners currently receive a £100 voucher from Pixum online photo printing
. Take a look at the Photo of the Week Gallery
