ePHOTOzine's Photo Of The Week Winner

ePHOTOzine member K_T has been crowned this week's Photo of the Week (POTW) winner.

The POTW is picked by ePHOTOzine's founder and Editorial Director, Peter Bargh, once a week and here's why he thought K_T's photo, 'The Plague Doctor', was a worthy winner:

"In the two years as a member on ePHOTOzine K-T has become one of our masters of the digital conceptual image. In this week's POTW her image tells a story of a distant city strickened with sickness. Here the creation of the plague doctor to cure the sickness stands balanced in the muted sepia toned scene. The addition of birds give an eeriness to the sky that is reflected in the scattering of puddles. The shafts of light appear to illuminate the rocks and the edge of the doctor's case and these have also been created manually."

"K-T takes several photos and combines them to make her collages - this one originates from Marrakesh and Yorkshire but it would be hard to spot the blends. It has a steampunk feel, and also a likeness to a creation by Tim Burton - if it had been blue toned and a little darker it could have easily been mistaken for one of Burton's surreal cinematic scenes."
